Metroblogging is rockin' awesome. I really wish Huntsville, AL was on the list because for a smaller town in the South, we have quite a bit of stuff that goes on since we have such a strong technology community. The majority of the town is comprised of transplants from other states as well as other countires. I always wish there was a one-stop shop for all of the cool things going on weekly or cool places in this town because I've been here for five years and I'm still finding new stuff. It's very atypical Alabama and it would be nice to give that fact a little more press.
I'm a geography geek by trade. Technically? I'm a GIS Analyst, but that's just a fancy title for someone who makes digital maps and works with digital geographic data/info. It's a rockin' field and I learned it all at Wesleyan Hall at The University of North Alabama.
That is also where I met my husband, who is also in the SAME FIELD.
We went back to campus this weekend to take pictures of our "roots". This one of the oldest buildings on campus and where we spent many many MANY late nights in the computer lab preparing projects, presentations, and maps. I have a lifetime of wonderful (and stressful) memories in that building, it was neat to go back there Saturday.
